KEIREN MCTAVISH FROM DUNFERMLINE INVOLVED IN VIOLENT STREET ATTACK ON PARTNER
In a disturbing incident that unfolded on the streets of Dunfermline, 18-year-old Keiren McTavish was involved in a violent assault against his partner during a heated argument.The confrontation took place publicly, drawing the attention of passersby and ultimately leading to police intervention.
According to reports, police officers who were passing by in a vehicle witnessed the altercation and promptly intervened.
They arrested McTavish at the scene, bringing an end to the violent episode.
The young man, who was formerly residing in Saline but now lives on Donald Street in Dunfermline, was subsequently brought before Dunfermline Sheriff Court to face charges.
At the court hearing, McTavish admitted to the assault that occurred on May 4 at his residence on Donald Street.
He confessed to physically attacking his partner by headbutting her and punching her in the head during the argument.
The court was informed that the incident was part of a series of troubling behaviors, as this was McTavish’s third case of similar nature within a single year.
Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia provided details of the events, stating that McTavish and a friend had been drinking Buckfast wine prior to meeting with the victim.
An argument ensued, during which McTavish allegedly grabbed her phone, then proceeded to assault her by headbutting and punching her.
The assault was witnessed by the police officers who happened to be passing by, leading to his immediate arrest.
The court heard that McTavish’s repeated offenses have raised concerns about his behavior and the potential risk he poses.
Sheriff James MacDonald sentenced him to a community payback order, which includes 15 months of supervision and 175 hours of unpaid work.
The sheriff issued a stern warning to McTavish, stating, “If you don’t complete these hours, you’ll come back here and I’ll lock you up,” emphasizing the seriousness of his actions and the need for rehabilitation.
