KEIRAN DALTON'S BRUTAL ATTACK IN YORK LEADS TO TWO-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE
Keiran Walton, aged 29, was given a prison sentence following a violent assault on his partner on a residential street near Malton Road in York. The court was informed that Walton forcibly pulled his partner out of a vehicle and caused serious injuries, which were described as appalling, including black and blue bruises and injuries to her eyes. The incident took place at 8:30 am in front of witnesses, with the woman crying out for help after Walton struck her head against the car. Subsequently, Walton dragged her into the street and started punching her. Witnesses intervened, leading to Walton's arrest.Walton has an extensive history of violent offences, particularly involving women, dating back to his teenage years. His prior convictions include grievous bodily harm, harassment, breaching restraining orders, malicious communications, and actual bodily harm.
During the court hearing, Walton, who lives on Lime Avenue in Hebden Bridge, acknowledged that he needed assistance and expressed hope of receiving treatment while imprisoned. He also claimed that his conduct was out of character and that drugs the night before contributed to his behaviour.
Judge Sean Morris highlighted Walton’s recurring pattern of violence against women, stating, "He is one of those men who clearly have a problem with women." The judge ordered Walton to maintain distance from women and cautioned that his violent tendencies must end. He described the injuries inflicted as "horrible" and emphasized that the attack was relentless. Walton admitted to causing actual bodily harm and received a sentence of two years in prison.
