KARAN PULLOCK AND THE HORRIFIC ATTACK IN LONDON
A violent sexual attacker named Karan Pullock, aged 37, committed a terrifying and disturbing assault in the city of London, specifically in the borough of Hackney.The incident involved a horrifying break-in into a woman's flat, a breach of her personal sanctuary, which led to a near-fatal encounter and a series of violent acts that have left both the victim and the community shaken.
The perpetrator gained entry into the victim’s residence through an unconventional and covert pathway—an attic space.
This breach of security was discovered on June 30 of the previous year, during a time when the victim was away from her home.
Upon her return later that day, she noticed unsettling signs of forced intrusion: the blinds in her flat had been deliberately drawn, obscuring the windows and giving the impression that someone had invaded her privacy.
Additionally, her pet dog was unusually silent, indicating that something was amiss.
The victim’s discovery triggered a scene of horror when Pullock suddenly emerged from a darkened room within her flat.
He was armed with a knife, wielding a dangerous weapon that significantly escalated the threat.
Without warning, he grabbed hold of the woman, and despite her efforts to resist, Pullock's strength and intent overpowered her.
He then pressed the weapon against her throat, making her acutely aware of the imminent danger.
During this terrifying ordeal, he directly threatened her, making it clear that he intended to kill her if she did not cooperate.
Following this, Pullock forcibly moved the distressed woman into her bedroom, where he used physical restraint—tying her to a chair—while demanding money.
The ordeal worsened as he began cutting at her clothing and eventually subjected her to sexual assault, attempting to rape her in the process.
The attack was brutal and unprovoked, leaving the victim in a state of extreme fear and trauma.
In a disturbing turn of events, Pullock then made a desperate decision to contact the Metropolitan Police.
During the call, he confessed to the violent incident, providing police with details that led them swiftly to his arrest.
Officers arrived at the scene in a prompt response, apprehending him within a short period, and he was taken into custody on suspicion of multiple serious criminal offenses.
Karan Pullock, who is a resident of Hackney, East London, faced a court where he pleaded guilty to several charges—attempted robbery, attempted rape, sexual assault, and threats to kill—on January 18.
As a result of his actions, he has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Additionally, he will be placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for the remainder of his life, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.
The victim, deeply impacted by the trauma, spoke openly about her ongoing struggles.
She expressed feelings of despair and loss of confidence, describing how the incident has affected her ability to function normally.
She said, “There are days where I struggle to get out of bed.
Not recognizing the person I once was.
I wonder what the point is, where I no longer have the confidence to live like I used to.
To live in a city like London and constantly be in fear feels hopeless.
I’m a grown woman who is now scared of the dark.
I feel embarrassed trying to make plans to see friends, or client meetings and having to work around this.
In the winter months, it makes this basically impossible.” Detective Sergeant Matthew Cooksey, who led the investigation, commented on the case, stating, “Pullock is a truly dangerous individual who planned a terrifying attack on the victim for no reason other than his own gratification.
I am glad that he pleaded guilty and spared the victim from having to relive the experience at court.
He will now spend a significant period behind bars.
