A teenager named Kalon Shaw beat up his former partner, Alisha Grenow, following a post-sex argument about seeing other people. The court was informed that Shaw punched and kicked Grenow before threatening her with a kitchen knife. After being charged and released on bail for this offense, he later entered Grenow's house and assaulted a male friend named Callum Harvey, inflicting significant injuries. During the attack on Grenow, Shaw was reportedly so angry that he 'was foaming at the mouth' and verbally abused her, calling her names such as 'jealous little sl*t' and 'easy, fat and ugly'. The victim sustained notable bruising from the incident. Shaw, now 18, had previously pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and inflicting grievous bodily harm. The judge described Shaw's background as 'miserable' and noted that despite his troubled upbringing, he had reached the age of 18 without a criminal record until these violent incidents. He was sentenced to a two-year community order with requirements for unpaid work, rehabilitative courses, and a restraining order prohibiting contact with Grenow, emphasizing to Shaw, 'You are avoiding custody by the skin of your teeth.'
