JUNIOR HILL FROM WALTON SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRL AND BOY IN LIVERPOOL

In a case that has shocked the Walton community and the wider Liverpool area, Junior Hill, aged 47, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of heinous crimes involving two young victims. The court heard that Hill, a resident of Walton Park in Walton, committed a series of disturbing sexual offenses against a young girl and a young boy, causing lasting trauma and emotional damage.

Following a trial at Liverpool Crown Court, Judge Robert Warnock delivered a stern sentence, declaring Hill a 'dangerous' offender under the sentencing guidelines. Hill was convicted last month on multiple counts, including two charges of rape and three counts of sexual assault and sexual assault by penetration against the girl. Additionally, he was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault against the boy. The severity of his crimes and the impact on the victims led to a sentence of 16 years in prison, with an extended period on licence, adding an extra five years to his supervision after release.

During the sentencing, Judge Warnock expressed his concerns about Hill’s alcohol abuse, which he believed had contributed to his disinhibition and the commission of these dreadful acts. The judge emphasized the profound harm inflicted upon the victims, stating, “I have heard two victim personal statements read in court, and they confirmed my understanding of the harm you have done to these children… I want to make it clear, you were the sole cause of that damage and no-one else whatsoever.”

The court was informed that Hill’s abuse began with inappropriate sexual touching of the girl, which later escalated to rape. His misconduct extended to abusing the young boy, who was left confused and angry by Hill’s sickening actions. The boy, in a police interview, expressed his confusion and distress, asking, “I was asking myself why it had happened, I kept asking myself why?”

The psychological toll on the victims was evident, with the girl reportedly becoming withdrawn and displaying behavioural issues at school following the incidents. The court also heard that Hill had suffered two strokes since committing his crimes, resulting in brain damage. Despite his health issues, Hill was present in court, listening to the proceedings with the assistance of a court-appointed intermediary.

As part of his sentence, Judge Warnock ordered Hill to register as a sex offender for life and imposed a restraining order that prohibits him from contacting his victims or their families. The extended sentence requires Hill to serve at least two-thirds of his prison term behind bars, rather than the usual half. However, his early release remains contingent upon the Parole Board’s assessment of whether he no longer poses a serious risk to the public, meaning he could potentially serve the full 16 years if deemed necessary.
