JOSEPH KEMP FROM KENT JAILED FOR SEX OFFENSES IN TENTERDEN AND CRANBROOK
A convicted sex offender has been sentenced to prison after targeting young girls in the town of Tenterden, located in Kent.The incidents occurred in early November 2023, causing concern among local residents and prompting a thorough police investigation.
On the dates of Friday, November 3, and Monday, November 6, 2023, Joseph Kemp, aged 33, was observed approaching teenage girls in the Ashford Road area of Tenterden.
During these encounters, he made inappropriate and unwelcome comments directed at the young females, raising alarm and prompting the victims to report the incidents to authorities.
Following the reports, the East Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team launched a detailed inquiry into the matter.
Their investigation uncovered sufficient evidence to charge Kemp, who resides on Tenterden Road in Cranbrook.
On Thursday, November 9, 2023, Kemp was formally charged with multiple offenses related to his interactions with minors.
Specifically, Kemp pleaded guilty to two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
These charges reflect the serious nature of his actions and the potential harm caused to the victims involved.
His case was brought before Canterbury Crown Court, where he faced sentencing.
On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Kemp was handed a prison sentence of three years and seven months.
