JOSEPH CARTER FROM NUNEATON CAUGHT IN SHOCKING SEXUAL PLOT INVOLVING 12-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Nuneaton, Joseph Carter, a resident of Arnold Road, Stoke Golding, was found guilty of attempting to incite a minor to engage in sexual activity. The incident unfolded after Carter, aged 34, initially connected with a woman on the popular dating platform Tinder.
The two adults had a brief period of acquaintance, which eventually faded.
However, months later, in May of the previous year, Carter reached out to the woman again, asking if she was interested in meeting up.
She responded by inviting him to her home located in North West Leicestershire.
While Carter was visiting, her 12-year-old daughter came downstairs and encountered him in the household.
The situation took a sinister turn shortly after Carter left the residence.
The girl was watching television with her mother when she received a friend request on her Snapchat account.
Upon recognizing who had sent the request, she immediately informed her mother.
The mother then took control of her daughter's phone and pretended to be her in the ensuing messages.
Prosecutor Andrew Vout explained that a series of messages were exchanged, which quickly turned inappropriate and sexual in nature.
The mother, acting as her daughter, photographed these messages before they expired.
Among the messages sent by Carter over several hours were explicit comments such as, “I won’t lie, when I saw you I thought she is so hot,” and “You’re gorgeous and your body is incredible.” In an attempt to further the inappropriate contact, the mother, still pretending to be her daughter, falsely claimed that her mother was “drunk and asleep.” Carter then proposed to return to the house and meet the girl downstairs.
He inquired whether she was a virgin, and upon receiving confirmation, he sent a disturbing message: “I will be gentle with you babe, do you think you will be able to handle it?
Obviously I’m going to be quiet.
I don’t want anyone to catch us, especially when we’re being naughty xxx.” He continued by asking if she was “good at keeping a secret,” and explicitly detailed sexual acts he intended to perform.
Carter also promised to send a picture to show what she “would be getting,” which he did by sending an indecent image.
The mother, horrified and concerned for her child's safety, contacted the police immediately, fearing Carter might return to the house.
Following the police intervention, Carter sent a message suggesting he was aware of the police presence at the residence.
However, he later denied being near the house, claiming he had simply gone home and had no intention of visiting the child.
Carter pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
As a result, he was sentenced to two years in prison.
In addition to his incarceration, Carter was placed under a sexual harm prevention order and will be required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions related to his conduct.
