JOSEPH BATTY FROM SOUTH LAKELAND SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES INVOLVING A 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL

A man from South Lakeland, Joseph Batty, has been sentenced to four years in prison after admitting to charges related to a 14-year-old girl. He pleaded guilty to inciting her to engage in sexual activity and causing or encouraging her to do so on two separate occasions. The incidents took place in 2014, and the court classified him as a high risk of reoffending. As part of his sentence, he will serve an extended licence period and will remain on the sex offender register for life, with restrictions on his contact with children that are set to be indefinite.
