TEENAGE RAPIST SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS FOR ASSAULT AND ABUSE NEAR HIGH WYCOMBE
A teenage rapist who lured his victim into quiet country lanes before abusing her left her so traumatised that she jumped in front of a moving 4×4, a judge was told last night.However, the girl’s father reacted quickly and pulled the devastated victim out of the way of the car, only to be struck and knocked to the ground himself.
Former football coach and air cadet Jordan Vaughan, of Saxhorn Road, Lane End, had only just turned 18 when he attacked the teenage girl in an isolated country road near High Wycombe and was still in denial as he was sentenced to seven years behind bars this week.
The judge heard how Vaughan, now aged 20, lured the young girl to the road before forcing her to carry out a sex act on him.
In a victim statement read aloud to the court by prosecutor Ahmed Hossain, the young woman who was subjected to Vaughan’s attacks described how she would have nightmares about being raped and had been distraught after he pressured her into having an abortion.
The terrors became so severe that she thought she could not cope and decided to jump in front of a moving vehicle.
She said: “I wake up crying in the night and have panic attacks.
I felt I couldn’t cope anymore and I saw a 4×4 and decided to step in front of it.
“My dad pulled me out the way and got hit himself.” Addressing Vaughan, Judge Justin Cole said: “The first offence was during the course of an argument, you pulled her by the hair and forced her trousers down and raped her by force, abandoning her on a county footpath.” Describing the second incident, he said: “You took her for a walk and grabbed her hair, manhandled her and forced her face down onto your penis, and forced her to perform oral sex, and then abandoned her.” He added: “I accept you are not the author of all her difficulties in life, she was brought up in care, but you have compounded her problems.” Vaughan’s defence counsel said he suffered from Asperger’s Syndrome and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), added: “He has attempted to harm himself in the prison environment.
“His brothers have been bullied at school about the charges he faced and his mother has been assaulted over the allegations.” Vaughan, who appeared in court by video link, showed no emotion as he was jailed for seven years having been convicted of two counts of rape at an earlier hearing.
Sentencing Vaughan, who was a first time offender, Judge Cole added: “These offences are so serious that only a lengthy custodial sentence is justifiable.
“The suggestion in the pre-sentence report that you are a danger and I bear in mind that fact as you have a history of self-harm as well as Asperger’s and ADHD.
“That does not excuse this incredibly serious sexual offending but it will make your time in custody all the harder for you.” Judge Cole added that he would not see his two younger brothers for the duration of the jail sentence.
