MAN ADMITS BITING FORMER PARTNER ON LIP AND CUTTING HER WITH GLASS IN ABERDEEN
A man who subjected his partner to repeated assaults over a two-year period has been sentenced to perform unpaid community work.Jordan Reid appeared in court and confessed to multiple attacks on the woman, which included punching her and biting her lip.
The Aberdeen Sheriff Court was informed that the 23-year-old also injured her with broken glass during a separate incident.
At the time, Reid was in a long-term relationship with the victim, and the assaults took place between May 1, 2019, and September 27, 2020.
His legal representative stated that Reid "knows that his conduct is serious." Reid admitted to one charge of engaging in a pattern of abusive behavior towards his partner.
Neil McRobert noted that Reid had issues related to drunken jealousy and took full responsibility, recognizing that his actions were completely unacceptable.
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin described a social work report as "encouraging" but chose supervision as the most suitable course of action.
Reid was sentenced to a community payback order with supervision for a period of 12 months and was instructed to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.
