JORDAN NICHOLSON SENTENCED IN LIVERPOOL FOR RAPE OF TWO WOMEN WHILE THEY SLEPT
A man who attacked and raped two women while they were asleep has been sentenced to prison.Jordan Nicholson, aged 23, committed these offences on separate occasions during the summer of 2016.
The first victim, a 21-year-old woman, woke to find Nicholson assaulting her in her own home.
She managed to push him away and shouted for him to stop.
She later reported the incident to Cheshire police, providing social media messages in which she had discussed what happened with Nicholson.
She also submitted messages concerning a similar attack on another woman in August 2016.
During police questioning, Nicholson denied the allegations, claiming the sexual encounters were consensual.
Despite the social media evidence, he continued to deny his crimes until he changed his plea to guilty at a court hearing on July 12, 2019.
Nicholson, of Boughey Lane, Leigh, was sentenced to six years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, August 27.
He previously pleaded guilty to two counts of rape during an earlier hearing.
Detective Constable Jayne Boote commented, “Sexual assault is a horrific offence that profoundly impacts victims.
While they may never forget what Nicholson subjected them to, I hope his guilty plea and the custodial sentence offer them some closure and help them move forward.
I also hope this case encourages other victims to come forward and report similar offences.” She added, “Cheshire Constabulary takes allegations of sexual offences very seriously.
All reports are thoroughly investigated, prioritising the wishes and needs of victims.
Victims should never feel ashamed to speak out.
They will receive support from our specialist officers and partner agencies.
All victims are entitled to anonymity.”
