JORDAN GREGORY SENTENCED IN DERBYSHIRE AFTER VASE ATTACK ON GIRLFRIEND

A woman was hospitalized following an incident involving her jealous boyfriend, Jordan Gregory, in Derbyshire. Gregory, who had been drinking heavily, returned to the victim's address after a dispute in a supermarket over her contacting male friends via social media. During the confrontation, Gregory became violent, calling her derogatory names before throwing a glass vase that resulted in a leg injury just below the knee. When authorities arrived, he was aggressive and assaulted a police officer by attempting to headbutt him. The injured woman, who has mental health issues, was taken to hospital to receive treatment for her injuries. Gregory pleaded guilty to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker. Judge Nirmal Shant QC sentenced him to 11 months in prison, with no restraining order issued. Gregory expressed remorse for his actions, citing alcohol influence and Job loss due to COVID-19 as contributing factors.
