FIFE MAN JORDAN FITZSIMMONS CAUGHT WITH CHILDREN'S UNDERWEAR AND SEX TOYS IN BEDROOM AFTER ONLINE CHAT WITH PREDATORS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Fife, Jordan Fitzsimmons, a 31-year-old resident of the Leven area, was apprehended following an undercover police operation that uncovered his involvement in online discussions centered around the sexual abuse of children.The investigation was initiated after authorities identified a Kik messenger profile under the alias 'Dave Sam x,' which was actively used in a group chat to exchange disturbing conversations about the sexual exploitation of minors.
During the court proceedings at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, it was revealed that Fitzsimmons engaged in sickening online exchanges with other users, some of whom were undercover officers.
In these chats, he made explicit claims about having offended against two children, discussing his alleged actions and future plans for abuse.
One of the conversations involved him referring to a young girl, stating that he had 'done quite a lot with her,' and expressing intentions to carry out further abuse.
Police executed a search warrant at Fitzsimmons’s home in October 2022.
The raid uncovered a collection of incriminating items, including three pairs of girls’ underwear stored in a bedside drawer near his bed, along with sex toys and his work trousers.
When questioned, Fitzsimmons denied having any sexual interest in children, claiming he used the Kik account solely to have sexual conversations with strangers.
He admitted to being the user of the account but could not recall specific details of the conversations, citing intoxication at the time.
Further evidence presented in court included photographs sent by Fitzsimmons to the group chat.
These images depicted him with girls’ underwear and a disturbing photo of his genitals positioned next to a screen showing a sleeping child.
Despite the explicit nature of these images and conversations, Fitzsimmons maintained that he had never sexually abused a child and insisted he had no sexual interest in minors.
Fitzsimmons’s actions extended beyond online chats.
Between September 15 and 26, 2022, he was found to have sent messages via social media in which he discussed the sexual abuse of children and shared various explicit images.
His behavior was described as threatening and abusive, and he was found to have acted in a manner that caused significant concern and revulsion among the authorities and the public.
Represented by solicitor Bob Inch, Fitzsimmons acknowledged the serious nature of the charges but emphasized that he had not directly harmed any child.
His lawyer highlighted that Fitzsimmons accepted the gravity of his actions and expressed remorse, noting that he was utterly ashamed of what had transpired.
The defense also pointed out that Fitzsimmons did not attempt to minimize his conduct or its impact on his family.
During sentencing, Sheriff Robert More acknowledged the difficulty in assessing the case's severity but emphasized the widespread revulsion it provoked.
Considering the time Fitzsimmons had already spent on remand, the sheriff decided that a custodial sentence was unlikely.
Instead, he imposed a three-year supervision order, requiring Fitzsimmons to complete 240 hours of unpaid work.
Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders register for three years, reflecting the serious nature of his offenses and the community’s need for ongoing monitoring.
