JORDAN FIRMAN OF GLASGOW SENTENCED FOR YEARS OF ABUSE IN MARYHILL AND CADDER
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Glasgow community, Jordan Firman, a 27-year-old man from Maryhill, has been convicted of a series of heinous sexual offenses spanning over a decade. The crimes, committed against multiple young victims, include repeated acts of rape, indecent assault, and molestation, with some incidents occurring at a property in the Maryhill area and others at Cadder Community Centre.
Firman’s abuse of the first boy began when the victim was just six years old, and it continued until he was 17.
During this period, the offender subjected the boy to repeated sexual assaults, often waking him up to perform sex acts.
The court heard that the victim was only seven or eight years old at the start of the abuse, while Firman was approximately 13 or 14.
These assaults reportedly happened at least once a week, with Firman continuing to rape the boy monthly even as he protested and expressed his discomfort.
Prosecutor Iain Smith detailed the disturbing nature of the abuse during the trial, stating, “When he told Firman he didn’t want to do it, he said he wouldn’t give him money unless he did.
Firman gave him money and alcohol, and the boy just let it happen because he thought it was normal.
If the boy told Firman ‘no,’ he would leave it that night but come back later with offers of money.” In addition to the abuse of the first boy, Firman was also convicted of molesting a second boy and a girl.
The girl, aged just seven, was subjected to an attempt by Firman to distract her with a phone while he took the other boy into a shower room and attacked him.
The court heard that the girl was unaware of what was happening and tried to speak to the boy, but there was someone behind the door, making her unable to intervene.
Firman’s actions took place in various locations, including a sports centre, where he attacked the young victims.
The court described how he would use manipulative tactics, such as giving gifts and alcohol, to lure and silence his victims.
His conduct was described as predatory and deeply disturbing.
Following his conviction on multiple charges of rape, indecent assault, and sexual assault, Firman was ordered to register as a sex offender.
The sentencing hearing is scheduled for next month, during which further penalties will be determined.
Firman’s crimes have left a lasting scar on his victims and have prompted calls for increased vigilance and protective measures within the Glasgow community.
