A sex offender who raped a 12-year-old girl in a park in Dudley has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Jonathan Priddy, aged 20, was convicted after Wolverhampton Crown Court heard that he attacked the girl in a Midland park, pushing her into bushes and assaulting her despite her pleas to stop.
The prosecuting lawyer Helena Miller described the attack as sickening, with Priddy continuing the assault even as the girl begged him to cease.
The court was told that Priddy struck the girl with significant violence, causing her to scream and feel 'scared and violated.' Judge Michael Challinor labeled the offender as a 'wicked beast' and emphasized the impact on the victim and her family.
Priddy was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and was barred from working with children.
During arrest, he admitted to police that he had a problem with alcohol, which was considered a major factor in the offense.
The court stated he must serve a substantial prison term.
