JONATHAN LLOYD CHARGED WITH RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT IN MILTON KEYNES AND NORWICH
A man has been formally charged with multiple counts of sexual violence following a series of disturbing and heinous attacks on a young boy in Milton Keynes.Jonathan Lloyd, aged 47, whose residence is listed as Newton Road, Hainford, Norwich, was found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict after a comprehensive nine-day trial held at Reading Crown Court.
The charges include two counts of raping a male and one count of sexual assault by touching.
The criminal history of Lloyd reveals a troubling pattern of abuse spanning several years.
The first known incident occurred in October 2004, when Lloyd raped a male teenager.
Several years later, between 2011 and 2012, he sexually assaulted the same individual, who was then in his twenties.
The victim, after enduring years of silence, finally reported the offences to Thames Valley Police in 2020.
Following an extensive investigation by law enforcement authorities, Lloyd was formally charged on April 28, 2022.
Following his court appearance on Thursday, September 19, Lloyd was remanded in custody.
His sentencing is scheduled to take place in Reading on December 5.
Detective Constable Hollie Cromarty, a member of the Milton Keynes Criminal Investigation Department, commented on the case, stating that Lloyd had “targeted his victim” and carried out “horrific sexual attacks” against him.
She emphasized the emotional toll on the victim, noting that it took a significant amount of time for him to come to terms with what had happened.
Cromarty praised the victim’s bravery in reporting the crimes, acknowledging the courage it took to come forward after so many years.
She further expressed her satisfaction with the jury’s decision, saying, “I am pleased that the jury unanimously convicted Lloyd of these abhorrent offences, and he will be sentenced in due course.” Cromarty reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to investigating sexual crimes, regardless of how much time has passed, and assured that victims’ voices are always heard.
She concluded by stating, “Lloyd would have felt he had got away with these crimes, but thanks to the victim’s bravery, we have brought him to account for what he has done.”
