HECKMONDWIKE THUG JONATHAN BARRETT JAILED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULTS AND THREATS
A man named Jonathan Barrett has been sentenced to jail for multiple violent offenses. He was convicted of attacking his partner at a chemist, where he forcibly yanked her by the hair and ordered her to remove her hair extensions, in front of staff at Cohen's Chemist in Heckmondwike.
Barrett also assaulted a police officer who was called to address another domestic dispute at the couple's home on Batley Road, during which he kicked the officer in the groin twice—once making contact with the officer's right knee and again with the groin—causing him pain.
The incident at the chemist involved Barrett grabbing and hitting his partner, with staff intervening to stop further assault, though Barrett became aggressive again, leading to his departure from the store.
Despite his partner's reluctance to pursue further action, CCTV footage and staff testimony supported Barrett’s conviction.
In addition, Barrett threatened his neighbor outside her home, saying, 'That's him down there and that's her.
I'm going to kill her and put all of her windows through,' prompting the victim to call 999 out of fear.
Barrett has a history of violent behavior, having previously been jailed in 2014 for attacking a taxi driver in Batley and has been recalled to prison for breaching a community order after being released.
Recently, he was sentenced to eight weeks in custody for his offenses, which included assault and threats, along with a fine and compensation payments to the police officer and his partner.
