RAPIST JAILED FOR 12 YEARS FOR SEX ATTACK ON YOUNG GIRL
A man named Jonathan Baines, aged 27 from Prestwich, Manchester, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the sexual assault of a young girl in Rhyl.
Baines pleaded guilty to the offence, which occurred last month, and the case was heard at Caernarfon crown court.
The judge, Recorder Jeremy Jenkins, initially sentenced him to serve seven years in prison but also imposed an extended five-year licence period following release.
Baines will also be on the sex offenders' register for life and is subject to restrictions through a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Notably, the day after the incident, Baines voluntarily surrendered himself at Rhyl police station, stating, "I've come to report a crime I've done and hand myself in." The court acknowledged his high level of remorse.
The article further notes Baines' residence in Prestwich and describes the court proceedings and the sentence details.
