JOHNSTONE BLAKE FROM FIFE SENTENCED FOR SICKENING SEX CRIMES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS
A man from Fife, Johnstone Blake, has finally been sentenced to prison after a lengthy investigation into his disturbing series of sexual offenses committed against two young girls.The case, which spanned over a decade, revealed a pattern of abuse that deeply scarred the victims and caused significant emotional trauma.
Blake, aged 66, carried out what has been described as a “sustained catalogue” of sexual crimes.
These offenses targeted two young girls, with the abuse occurring over a period of time that left lasting psychological damage.
The gravity of his actions was acknowledged in court, where he pleaded guilty to the charges in February.
Despite his guilty plea, Blake’s behavior in court was unsettling; he turned to the public gallery and offered a simple “I’m sorry” to the two women, who were present as witnesses, before being remanded into custody.
The first girl to come forward initially spoke out about Blake’s abuse in 2009.
However, she later withdrew her allegations, citing fears and accusations of lying that were made against her at the time.
It was only after years of silence that Blake was finally brought to justice.
The breakthrough came when the now adult victim, who is in her 30s, secretly recorded Blake admitting to his inappropriate conduct over the phone, providing crucial evidence that led to his arrest and subsequent conviction.
Following his guilty plea, Blake was sentenced to two years in prison, a reduction from the original three-year sentence due to his early admission of guilt.
The court also imposed non-harassment orders that will remain in effect for five years, aiming to protect the victims from further contact or intimidation.
Sheriff Tim Niven-Smith, who presided over the case, emphasized the severity of Blake’s actions, stating that his crimes had inflicted “lifelong psychological trauma” on his victims.
In his sentencing remarks, Sheriff Niven-Smith highlighted that the maximum penalty for each offense was two years.
He explained that the headline sentence of three years was reduced by a third to reflect Blake’s cooperation and to spare the victims the prolonged stress of a trial and the ordeal of giving evidence.
The sheriff concluded by reaffirming the devastating impact of Blake’s conduct, underscoring that his actions had caused enduring psychological harm to both victims, and that justice had finally been served after many years of suffering.
