JOHN WOOD CONVICTED OF RAPE IN GLASGOW DOWANHILL FLAT HORROR
John Wood, a man from Glasgow, was found guilty at Glasgow High Court of heinous sexual offenses committed within his flat located in the Dowanhill area. The court's verdict came after a detailed trial that revealed the disturbing extent of his crimes against two women, both of whom were his romantic partners at different times.
One of the victims, who has chosen to speak publicly about her traumatic experience, recounted the harrowing details of her ordeal.
She explained that her relationship with Wood had become strained after she discovered him engaging in flirtatious exchanges with a woman he had previously been involved with, through Facebook messages.
This discovery prompted her to end their relationship.
The night Wood returned from a holiday marked the beginning of her nightmare, as he subjected her to a brutal rape in his flat.
She described her shock and disbelief, noting that Wood appeared cold and dismissive during the assault.
The same victim recounted a subsequent attack a few days later, when she returned to the flat to retrieve some belongings.
During this visit, Wood held her captive in the bedroom for what she estimated to be around 45 minutes to an hour.
Despite her efforts to fight him off and escape, he prevented her from leaving, leaving her feeling utterly broken and traumatized by the experience.
The second woman, who was also romantically involved with Wood, faced a similar ordeal.
She uncovered numerous messages that revealed Wood’s manipulative tendencies and indicated that she was not his only victim.
Her discovery of these messages further exposed his pattern of controlling and violent behavior.
At the Glasgow High Court, John Wood was convicted of multiple serious charges.
He was found guilty of raping his first victim and attempting to rape her at his Dowanhill flat.
Additionally, he was convicted of raping his second victim at the same location approximately one month later.
The court has indicated that sentencing will take place soon, bringing some measure of justice for the women affected by his actions.
