Dunfermline Domestic Abuser
In September 2024, a man who assaulted his partner at their home in Coupar Angus received a community-based sentence instead of prison. Perth Sheriff Court heard that John Taylor repeatedly kicked his victim, grabbed him by the hair, and struck him in the face at Causewayend on May 7 of the previous year.

Taylor, who has since relocated to Dunfermline, was found guilty following a trial. Sheriff Clair Mclachlan expressed concern over his history of domestic offending and ordered him to complete 180 hours of unpaid work. Additionally, she placed him under supervision for a year.
