ACCRINGTON MAN INVOLVED IN VIOLENT ASSAULT OF FATHER IN FRONT OF CHILDREN
Two men, John Smedley, aged 35, and John Wigglesworth, aged 21, who attacked a father in front of two children, are awaiting sentencing.
Raymond Craigie, 39, was assaulted at a friend's house in Accrington last August, suffering broken teeth, cuts, bruises, and swelling.
The attack was described as unprovoked, with the defendants claiming they did not intend violence.
Smedley was accused of stamping on Mr.
Craigie's head multiple times, reportedly causing him 'unbelievable pain', and was heard to say 'Again, again.' It was revealed that Smedley had 42 previous convictions including offences of affray, violent disorder, and battery, while Wigglesworth had 10 prior violence-related convictions.
Both defendants admitted to assault causing actual bodily harm and were remanded in custody until January 30.
