SERIAL RAPIST JOHN ROBERTS JAILED FOR TEN YEARS
A CONVICTED rapist has been jailed for ten years for two sex attacks on a pensioner.John Roberts raped his 74-year-old victim in Alresford.
He told police he had raped the same woman four times before the latest sex attack.
The 52-year-old had a previous conviction for raping another woman in 2003.
A judge at Chelmsford Crown Court said Roberts had put his victim through a horrifying ordeal.
Recorder Patricia Lynch QC said Roberts was a danger to the public - especially women.
He was jailed for ten years and will serve the whole time in custody.
After the sentence ends Roberts will still have to convince the parole board he is no longer a danger to the public.
The court heard the rapes took place in Alresford, between November 2011 and September last year.
