January 2018 62-year-old man avoids jail for downloading indecent images of children A 62-year-old from Swansea has been given a suspended prison sentence for downloading indecent photographs of children. John David Roberts, of Hanover Parklands, Sketty Park, was also told at Swansea Crown Court that he would be on the sexual offender register for 10 years. Roberts had previously pleaded guilty at magistrates’ court to three charges of downloading 1,166 indecent photographs between July 20, 2014, and July 21, 2017. Eight of them were the most serious Category A offence. Roberts’s 32-week sentence was suspended for two years.
