ISLE OF WIGHT MAN AVOIDS JAIL AFTER SENDING SEXUAL PHOTOS TO DECOY SCHOOLGIRL

An Isle of Wight man, with a fetish for ‘people laughing at his small penis’ while he commits lewd acts, has avoided a prison sentence after being caught sending sexual chats to a police officer posing as a schoolgirl.

John Quigley, of Barrack Shute, Niton, appeared before a judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday, February 27.

Charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child aged under 16, the 55-year-old changed his plea to guilty on January 8, ahead of his trial.

Quigley had added a decoy 14-year-old schoolgirl on Snapchat under the profile Dave, 52, from the UK, via the Wink app, starting to talk to her on November 11, 2020, and continuing until the end of that month.

He revealed during chats that he had a fetish related to tights and people laughing at his small penis while masturbating.

He asked the girl to send photos of her wearing tights and also sent images of his penis.

Police tracked the communications to Quigley's IP address in Niton.

The prosecution highlighted these behaviors as a gate to more serious offences involving child abuse.

Defense argued Quigley was previously a man of good character with no convictions, who experienced significant stress due to family issues, including threats of deportation of his wife.

The judge described the incident as a 'gateway offence' which 'leads to real children being abused,' but noted Quigley's prospects for rehabilitation if he accepts his actions.

Quigley received a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, including 45 days of rehabilitation and 120 hours of unpaid work.

He was also subjected to a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
