JOHN QUEEN'S SHOCKING SEX OFFENSES IN ELDERSLIE AND RENFREWSHIRE REVEALED

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community, retired firefighter John Queen, aged 67, has been found guilty of sexually abusing young boys during his time in Elderslie, Renfrewshire. The conviction, announced last week, marks the culmination of a lengthy legal process that began over a decade ago, bringing a measure of justice to those who suffered at his hands.

Queen’s criminal activities spanned several years, with the most recent convictions relating to incidents that occurred between 2005 and 2009. During this period, he exploited his position as a coach and manager of a local football club in Paisley, a town within Renfrewshire, to prey on vulnerable boys aged between 14 and 19. His abuse took place both at his residence in Elderslie and at a school in the county, where he used his authority and trust to manipulate his victims.

The court heard that Queen engaged in a series of disturbing acts, including giving naked massages, touching the boys’ private areas, and forcing the younger victim to shower at his home, even entering the bathroom while the boy was in the shower. He also dried the older boy after his shower and made him perform exercises in just his underwear, further violating their personal boundaries. The most heinous act involved Queen stripping the older boy and performing a sex act on him when he was 18, after they had gone to a pub together, and the victim was too intoxicated to give consent.

Despite these grave allegations, Queen was previously acquitted in 2018 of similar charges involving eight other boys, with incidents dating back as far as 1984 and up to 2007. However, the recent conviction has provided a sense of closure for some of the victims, who have spoken out about their relief and the importance of justice finally being served.

One of the victims expressed their feelings, stating, “The most important aspect is that justice has been served in the end. We felt badly let down in 2018. I’m just glad! It’s bittersweet, that’s for sure! I’m happy but it’s a hard pill to swallow when the exact same thing he was accused of in our case was a different outcome.” Another victim shared, “I’m very glad it’s out there now, for all to see, that he is a sex offender. The news of his conviction is good.”

A mother of one of the boys added her perspective, saying, “A guilty verdict is bittersweet for the boys. I hope John Queen’s supporters hang their heads in shame.”

Queen, who once claimed he deserved an OBE for his work with children, had portrayed himself as a benefactor, helping boys with odd jobs around his house and offering support to those lacking father figures or facing financial difficulties. He swore on his late wife’s ashes that he had done nothing wrong and even boasted about saving a pensioner’s life at a wedding.

His actions, however, paint a starkly different picture. The jury convicted him of multiple counts of sexual assault, including forcing himself on the boys and engaging in inappropriate conduct. His sentencing is scheduled for next month, where he will face the consequences of his actions in a court of law.
