Ripon Child Sexual Abuser
A convicted paedophile who plotted to sexually abuse a four-year-old girl has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. John Peter Noble, 36, was arrested in Ripon in April during an undercover police operation after he arranged to meet his supposed victim. North Yorkshire Police clarified that there was never an actual child involved and no children were ever at risk.
Noble, residing on North Street in Ripon, appeared at York Crown Court, where he was sentenced after pleading guilty to nine child sex offences in May. He has been placed on the sex offenders' register for life.
The court was informed that Noble attempted to meet with what he believed was the victim’s family on 30 April. However, he was apprehended by undercover officers during an online sting operation. Noble, who had previous convictions for possessing indecent images of children, also faced additional charges for breaching the conditions of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
