March 2006 Ex-teacher made indecent images A retired teacher and youth centre manager who admitted 11 offences of making indecent images has been given a three-year community order. John Perrott, 66, of Bradwell, Essex, also admitted offences of distributing and possessing indecent images of children. At Chelmsford Crown Court, Judge Christopher Ball said Perrott did not pose a significant risk to youngsters. He was also ordered to complete a rehabilitation plan for sex offenders. Doctored pictures The judge said Perrott would be under the supervision of a probation officer for the duration of the community order and would be placed on the sex offender’s register for seven years. Judge Ball said he had been given references which showed that Perrott had “an exemplary character”. He said there was no evidence that Perrott had harmed children during his teaching career. Police found more than 1,000 indecent images involving children on Perrott’s computer.
