August 2014 Dingwall rapist who attacked girl and three women jailed for life A ROSS-SHIRE “sexual fiend” has been locked up for a minimum of 10 years for the rape and sexual abuse of females, including a nine-year-old girl. John David MacIntosh from Dingwall was convicted of four serious sexual offences at the end of a trial at the High Court in Aberdeen. Lord Uist handed MacIntosh (46) a life sentence and told him he was a sexual fiend who posed a serious danger to women. The sentence means that MacIntosh must serve at least ten years before he can apply for parol. The offences involving a child and adult women took place in the Highlands between 1996 and 2004. During sentencing Lord Uist said: “You have been convicted by the jury of four very serious sexual offences. “The first involved sexual assault and attempted rape of a nine-year-old girl on various occasions.” He said the next two charges involved one act of rape of two different women, and the fourth charge involved the rape of another woman on various occasions. The judge said: “You targeted vulnerable females in order to gratify your carnal lust. You have called all these women liars and shown no remorse for what you did. “You are now 46 years of age. You have previously been sentenced to imprisonment on three occasions – for periods of three months, nine months and seven years respectively. The last sentence related to charges of having sexual intercourse with 13 and 14 year old girls. “I am satisfied from the evidence which I have heard in the course of this trial and from your previous conviction for two sexual offences resulting in seven years imprisonment that you constitute a serious danger to women. “It is clear to me that you have no respect for women and are a sexual fiend.” August 2007 Man groomed schoolgirls for sex A Dingwall man who groomed and had sex with schoolgirls at a house in the town has been jailed for seven years. The High Court in Paisley heard Jon MacIntosh, 39, had unlawful sex with the girls, aged 13 and 14. MacIntosh, who used to run a disco business, had previously been convicted at the High Court in Perth. The jury found him guilty of having unlawful intercourse with a 14-year-old on three occasions, and with a 13-year-old, in May and June 2006. The charge had been reduced from rape. Judge Lord McEwan told MacIntosh that he had been involved in the grooming of his victims, who saw him as a glamorous figure because of his music business reputation. Prior to being sentenced, the judge was told that MacIntosh was still in denial, despite the outcome. After he was convicted in June, a father of one of his victims said: “He’s crafty and he’s a predator. He got into their heads. I hope that no other family has to go through what we’ve gone through because of this man.” Lord McEwan had deferred sentence for background reports and placed MacIntosh’s name on the sex offenders register. On Wednesday, the judge told the 39-year-old he had taken advantage of the girls’ vulnerability and inexperience. He had done so, said Lord McEwan, by means of “flattery and an available house” which had caused them to seek his company in the knowledge that he was someone who worked in the music business. That, he added, was conduct known these days as “the grooming of children for sex”. MacIntosh, it was stated, had shown no remorse for his actions.
