In a disturbing case that has shocked the communities of Clydebank and Dumbarton, John MacAulay, a 63-year-old man, has been linked to the possession of a large collection of indecent images of children. The investigation began after police received a tip-off from the Metropolitan Police, leading to a series of searches and subsequent charges that have brought to light the extent of his alleged offending.

MacAulay was found to have stored approximately 350 indecent images on his laptop, depicting children aged between four and 14. He also disclosed that he was a transsexual, a detail that added complexity to the case.

Further details emerged during court proceedings, revealing that MacAulay had breached bail conditions that explicitly prohibited him from accessing the internet.
