John Llewelyn James, a 56-year-old resident of Henry Street in Enniskillen, has been found guilty and received a custodial sentence following his involvement in the possession of indecent images of children and his violation of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
The case unfolded with police officers having to forcibly enter James's residence in Enniskillen after mounting suspicions and evidence pointing towards his illicit activities. Once inside, authorities uncovered a substantial collection of indecent imagery depicting children, which was stored across his electronic devices. James admitted to possessing a total of ten counts related to these images and also acknowledged breaching the SOPO by accessing computers with internet capabilities without prior approval or permission.
The offending behavior was carried out over a period from April 22 to May 13, 2023. Prosecutor Michael McAleer highlighted the troubling nature of the case, stating,
