JOHN KIRBY FROM BANBURY ADMITS TO MAKING CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN SHOCKING CASE
In a recent court hearing held at Oxford Crown Court, John Kirby, a 57-year-old resident of Penrose Drive in Banbury, faced serious allegations related to the creation of indecent images of children.The proceedings revealed that Kirby had pleaded guilty to six counts of producing such images, along with four additional charges of breaching a sexual offences order that had been previously imposed on him.
According to court records, the images in question were produced during January and February of this year.
The evidence presented indicated that Kirby had created more than a dozen images classified as Category A, which is the most severe classification for indecent images.
Category A images include those depicting penetrative sexual acts, sexual activities involving animals, or acts of sadism.
Specifically, the court heard that Kirby had made five still images and two moving images categorized as Category A by or before January 8.
Furthermore, by or before February 5, he had produced an additional six images that also fell under the Category A classification.
In addition to the Category A images, the court noted that Kirby had also been involved in creating images classified as Category B and C, which are considered less severe but still constitute serious offences.
The charges related to these lesser categories were also part of the proceedings.
Another significant aspect of the case involved allegations that Kirby had attempted to access indecent images online, in direct violation of a sexual offences order issued by Basildon Crown Court in 2009.
These attempts to breach the court order formed part of the charges he faced.
Interestingly, Kirby also faced a separate count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
However, he pleaded not guilty to this particular charge, along with two other counts of breaching the sexual offences order.
The judge, Maria Lamb, decided to have these counts formally recorded on the court's files without a trial, and she scheduled the sentencing for the remaining charges for December 17.
The case continues to be a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by authorities to combat the production and distribution of illegal and harmful images involving minors.
