JOHN KELSEY FROM NORTHUMBERLAND ADMITS TO MAKING INDECENT IMAGE OF A CHILD AT RAF BOULMER
In a case that has shocked the local community in Northumberland, John Kelsey, a 32-year-old man associated with RAF Boulmer, has pleaded guilty to the serious charge of creating an indecent photograph of a minor. The incident dates back to March 2017, and the case was brought before Berwick Magistrates’ Court in May 2018.
According to the prosecution, the offence was uncovered when police officers seized Kelsey’s mobile phone during a search of his residence.
The search was initially conducted as part of an investigation into a different matter, which, notably, was subsequently dropped.
During this search, authorities discovered evidence that led to the charge against Kelsey.
It was revealed during the court proceedings that Kelsey had been in a relationship with a girl who was 16 years old at the time.
However, the indecent image in question was of her when she was significantly younger, approximately 14 or 15 years old.
This detail underscores the disturbing nature of the offence and the vulnerability of the victim involved.
The magistrates listened to the case and decided to adjourn proceedings until May 10, allowing for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
These reports will likely influence the sentencing phase, which will determine the consequences Kelsey faces for his actions.
The case has garnered considerable attention due to the serious allegations and the involvement of a military-associated individual in Northumberland.
