MAN, 46, JAILED 9 YEARS FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER IN FIFE
A 46-year-old man responsible for a series of violent crimes in Fife has been sentenced to nine years in prison.John Dunsmuir admitted guilt to charges including attempted murder, kidnapping, and assault causing severe injury during a hearing at the High Court in Edinburgh on Monday, May 11.
He received his sentence on Wednesday, June 10, for offenses committed in Fife in July 2025.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland described Dunsmuir as “a violent, abusive and depraved individual,” emphasizing that his prison term reflects the gravity of his actions.
They stated: “Our thoughts are with his victim, and I hope that his sentencing offers her some degree of reassurance.
“His conviction was made possible by her bravery in coming forward and helping with the investigation.
