JOHN ALLISON FELIXSTOWE PAEDOPHILE RAPIST SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS IN PRISON

In a harrowing case that has shocked the community, John Allison, a 64-year-old man from Felixstowe, was found guilty of a series of heinous sexual offenses involving a young girl. The conviction followed a detailed nine-day trial at Ipswich Crown Court, where the jury unanimously agreed on his guilt after hearing extensive evidence of his disturbing actions.

Allison’s crimes included a total of 21 separate offences, among them six counts of rape, four counts of assault by penetration, nine counts of sexual assault, as well as charges related to causing a child to engage in sexual activity and engaging in sexual activity without consent. The court was told that Allison, who had previously served as a senior warrant officer in the army with 22 years of exemplary service, had become obsessed with the young girl, beginning a pattern of abuse that would have lasting impacts.

The court heard that Allison had started abusing the girl when she was just 13 or 14 years old. During her testimony, which was given from behind a screen for protection, the victim recounted how Allison had repeatedly assaulted her. She described a particularly disturbing incident where he had given her wine before engaging in sexual acts on a pool table. The girl also revealed that Allison had reassured her that she need not worry about pregnancy because he had undergone a vasectomy.

Following the discovery of the abuse, the girl confided in her boyfriend, which led to the offences being reported to authorities. Allison initially denied the allegations, dismissing them as “ridiculous,” but the evidence presented in court proved otherwise. The court also heard that Allison had become estranged from his family, who lived in Portsmouth, after he walked out over 20 years ago and had since disowned them.

Judge David Goodin sentenced Allison to 16 years in prison, with the stipulation that he will serve only half of that term before becoming eligible for parole. Additionally, the judge ordered Allison to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for the rest of his life and issued a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim or her family.

Elizabeth, Allison’s middle daughter, expressed her disgust and anger at her father’s actions. She stated, “I’m absolutely disgusted. I hope he rots and dies in prison. I think it is sick and I’m glad justice has been done.” She also reflected on the impact of her father’s crimes, saying, “I just look at my own daughter, his granddaughter – who is 12 years old, and I think he has ruined some other child’s life. I hope he stays in prison for all of the 16 years.”

Allison’s background as a decorated army officer with no prior convictions was noted during the trial, which made his actions even more shocking to the court and the community. The case has left a lasting scar on those involved, and the sentence aims to serve as a stark reminder of the severity of such crimes.
