April 2021 Hull paedophile caught with dog sex video A convicted paedophile was caught with indecent images of children and a video of a woman engaging in sexual acts with a dog as he sat in a meeting with his probation officer. Joe McKinney, 40, turned up for the meeting on December 17, 2019, where he acted in a “furtive” way with his mobile phone. The probation officer noticed this and decided to call the police who arrived at the office to seize McKinney’s phone and analyse it. Officers found a two-minute video on the device of a 16-year-old male and female performing a sexual act as well images of the same girl wearing only her underwear. A two-minute video showing an adult female performing sexual acts with a dog was also found. “He was interviewed about these matters and made admissions,” said prosecuting barrister Paul Genney at Hull Crown Court on Thursday (April 29). McKinney, of Portobello Street in east Hull, was previously convicted for a similar offence back in November 2016. He was placed on the sex offender register and sentenced to an 18-month community order for three offences of making indecent images of children, one offence of extreme pornography, and for sending indecent images. Addressing McKinney, Recorder Turner revealed to him that the maximum sentence for possessing images of children is up to ten years in prison. “That is how serious the courts take this sort of offending,” she said. “I’m told there has been a slight shift in your thinking in that you now recognise children are victims and people put in positions like this does untold harm and lasting damage that can affect them for a life-time. “For your own sexual gratification you are willing to look at these images.” McKinney was sentenced to 12 months in prison suspended for two years and must complete 40 days of rehabilitation activity requirement He will also continue to be placed on the sex offenders register for a further ten years and must adhere to a sexual harm prevention order for a similar period. “If you mess up then it’s very likely you will go to prison,” said Recorder Turner. “It is very likely you will not get another opportunity. You have come within a whisker of going to custody today.”
