JOE MCKINNEY FROM HULL CAUGHT WITH CHILD AND ANIMAL SEX VIDEOS DURING PROBATION MEETING
In a disturbing incident that took place in Hull, a convicted sex offender named Joe McKinney was apprehended after authorities discovered him in possession of indecent images of children and a shocking video involving sexual acts with a dog.The incident occurred during a scheduled meeting with his probation officer, highlighting the ongoing concerns about his compliance with legal restrictions and the potential risk he poses to the community.
On December 17, 2019, McKinney, aged 40 and residing on Portobello Street in east Hull, attended a routine probation appointment.
During the meeting, he exhibited suspicious behavior, notably acting in a “furtive” manner while using his mobile phone.
The probation officer, noticing this unusual conduct, decided to involve law enforcement authorities.
Police officers arrived at the scene and promptly seized McKinney’s phone for analysis.
Upon examination of the device, officers uncovered a disturbing collection of material.
Among the files was a two-minute video depicting a 16-year-old male and female engaging in sexual acts.
Additionally, there were images of the same girl dressed only in her underwear, which further underscored the disturbing nature of the content.
Most shockingly, the officers found a two-minute video showing an adult woman performing sexual acts with a dog, a clear indication of extreme and illegal material.
McKinney was interviewed about these findings and made admissions regarding the content on his phone.
The case was brought before Hull Crown Court, where prosecuting barrister Paul Genney detailed the evidence and the defendant’s prior convictions.
It was revealed that McKinney had previously been convicted in November 2016 for similar offences.
His past crimes included making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornography, and sending indecent images, for which he was placed on the sex offender register and sentenced to an 18-month community order.
During the court proceedings, Recorder Turner addressed McKinney directly, emphasizing the severity of his actions.
She informed him that possessing images of children could result in a maximum sentence of up to ten years in prison, underscoring the gravity with which the courts treat such offences.
The judge acknowledged a slight shift in McKinney’s attitude, noting that he now recognizes children as victims and understands the harm caused by such material.
However, she also pointed out that McKinney’s motivation was for sexual gratification, which remains a serious concern.
Ultimately, McKinney was sentenced to a 12-month prison term, suspended for two years.
He was also ordered to complete 40 days of rehabilitation activities.
Additionally, he will continue to be on the sex offender register for a further ten years and must comply with a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.
Recorder Turner warned McKinney that any future misconduct could lead to immediate imprisonment, emphasizing that he narrowly avoided custody this time and that further violations would likely result in a permanent loss of his liberty.
