SEX OFFENDER JAILED FOR BREACHING SHPO
A man found guilty of sex offenses has been sentenced to prison after violating the conditions of his sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).Earlier this year, 23-year-old Joe Crawley from Woodford Close, Penhill, was convicted on multiple counts involving child sex crimes.
His convictions included two charges of arranging or facilitating a child sex offense and the production and distribution of indecent images of children.
In April, Crawley was given a suspended prison sentence alongside a 10-year SHPO that imposed various restrictions on his activities.
However, on June 10th, less than two months after his sentence and the implementation of the SHPO, authorities took him into custody for breaching the order on two separate occasions.
The violations stemmed from Crawley’s engagement with an AI chat application and an anonymous online video chat service.
Both actions were prohibited under his SHPO unless Crawley had obtained prior approval from supervising police officers or staff.
On July 10th, at Swindon Crown Court, Crawley was sentenced to 25 months in prison for these breaches.
