MAN JAILED FOR CHILD RAPE AND ATTEMPTED RAPE
A man convicted of multiple sexual offenses involving a young girl deemed vulnerable has received a 24-year prison sentence.Jimmy Fisher, aged 25, appeared stoic and showed no emotions during his sentencing at Southampton Crown Court.
Prosecutor Mick Tucker stated that Fisher was detained on August 19, 2025, after authorities became worried about his conduct online.
Further investigation uncovered that Fisher had inappropriately touched the girl, taken intimate photographs of her, raped her, and attempted additional acts of sexual assault.
Mr Tucker highlighted the defendant's efforts to hinder her from reporting the abuse, describing this as particularly troubling.
Fisher had earlier admitted to multiple charges, including five counts of sexual assault on a girl under 13, causing a child to engage in sexual acts, four counts of rape, and three counts of attempted rape.
In addition, he faced charges related to another victim, which included possessing indecent photographs of a child and engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
During mitigation, Andy Houston noted Fisher's early guilty pleas and argued that his honesty demonstrated remorse, describing him as unusually candid for a defendant.
He referenced positive character references submitted by acquaintances, claiming that many had spoken well of Fisher.
However, Judge William Mousley KC told the court that the primary victim was left "disgusted, shocked, and scared" by the crimes.
Addressing Fisher directly, the judge acknowledged his possibly challenging background but stated that remorse was not apparent at the time of arrest and dismissed the character references as insignificant.
Fisher, from Efford Way in Lymington, was sentenced to an extended term of 24 years.
He will serve 18 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole, with the remaining six years on licence.
The judge also warned that Fisher could potentially serve the entire sentence in custody.
He was additionally ordered to comply with an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and will be registered as a sex offender for life.
