JAYWICK: TEENAGER SON JAILED FOR SADISTICALLY ATTACKING HIS MOTHER

Jim Lee, 20, of Jaywick, who was high on drugs and drink, wanted to kill his 45-year-old mother, Chelmsford Crown Court was told.He tied a dog's choker chain around her neck and dragged her in the dark through swampy fields, across hedges and ditches, threatening her at knife point, while being watched by his terrified brother Charlie, aged 12.When he finally cut her throat, she pretended to be dead so he would not hurt his brother.Lee, who was 19 at the time of the incident, had a deep seated resentment of his mother, Yasmin, 45, who he felt had never loved him, the judge at Chelmsford Crown Court was told.He had been in children's home and foster care and was described by Judge Christopher Ball QC as having a Jekyll and Hyde relationship with his mum."You were capable of loving her one minute and capable of hating her the next," said the judge.Lee pleaded guilty to attempted murder on 29 November last year and was jailed for 12 years and told he would have to serve six years before he was even eligible for parole.Ms Lee suffered a laceration to her head during the incident but the cut to her throat was described as not life threatening.
