MAN JAILED FOR 'SHOCKING' CAMPAIGN OF STALKING AND HARASSMENT
A man has been jailed for 26 months after carrying out a campaign of stalking and harassment in Hook.Jesse Brazil, 22, of Rectory Road, was sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on October 7 after being charged with stalking, harassment, sending a photograph of genitals to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and breaching a restraining order.
The offences took place between May 23 and June 7 this year.
During that time, Brazil sent multiple messages and photos of genitals to the victim, created social media accounts to contact her, and turned up at her home.
On May 25, Brazil called police from outside the victim’s address, admitting he knew he was not allowed to be there.
He also contacted the victim’s mother on three occasions, threatening to burn down her house, stab her, and telling her to call police because he was on her road.
Brazil also made threats towards the victim’s son.
He was subsequently charged after police were contacted in May 2025.
Detective Constable Beth Hill said: "This was a terrifying campaign of stalking perpetrated by Brazil, who continuously threatened and harassed the victims despite already being subject to a restraining order.
His behaviour was shocking.
No-one should have to live in such fear and suffer such levels of harassment and abuse.
We take allegations of stalking incredibly seriously, and encourage anyone who has been affected by this type of behaviour to please contact police on 101, where you can speak to a police officer in confidence.
Dial 999 in the event of an emergency or if a crime is ongoing." Brazil was sentenced to 26 months in prison and given a 20-year restraining order.
