MAN ADMITS ATTEMPTING TO ARRANGE CHILD SEX OFFENCE
A man from Wycombe has confessed to attempting to organize an offence involving a child.
Jeffrey Ridgeway, aged 38 and residing at York Place in Buckinghamshire, appeared before High Wycombe Magistrates on Tuesday, February 17, where he pleaded guilty to trying to arrange or enable a child sex offence.
The court was informed that the alleged offence occurred between Monday, April 7, and Thursday, April 10, 2025, in High Wycombe.
Ridgeway's actions involved trying to set up or assist in an act that would have involved sexual activity with a minor, excluding penetration.
He has been referred to Aylesbury Crown Court for sentencing, with a future court date to be scheduled.
Currently, Ridgeway remains on conditional bail while awaiting further proceedings.
Bail conditions prohibit him from having unsupervised contact with individuals under 18 unless deemed unavoidable.
Additionally, he is limited to using only one internet-enabled device, which must be shown to authorities upon request.
Deleting internet history on any device is not permitted, and Ridgeway is required to report to Aylesbury Police Station each Monday between 8am and 8pm.
