JEFFREY REDMAN FROM STOCKPORT CAUGHT IN SHOCKING CHILD SEX OFFENSES IN SHEFFIELD AND SKEGNESS

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community, Jeffrey Redman, a known sex offender from Stockport, has been linked to heinous online activities involving a decoy posing as a 12-year-old girl. The incident dates back to February 2020, when Redman, then 51 years old, engaged in illicit conversations on online chatrooms. Unbeknownst to him, he was communicating with an undercover police officer operating a decoy account named Charley, who was part of an undercover operation aimed at catching predators.

According to court proceedings at Sheffield Crown Court, Redman-Armstrong responded to messages from the decoy, who claimed to be a young girl from Skegness, Lincolnshire. Using the username “Dingle,” he introduced himself as being from Sheffield and expressed admiration for her, describing her as “awesome.” The prosecutor, Nicola Quinney, detailed how the conversations quickly turned inappropriate, with Redman-Armstrong requesting to meet the girl in person and exchanging contact details via Skype, Kik, and email over a period of approximately two months.

Throughout their exchanges, the offender made numerous explicit requests, including asking for indecent photographs and sending crude messages about sexual acts. He also revealed that he might travel to Skegness, where the decoy claimed to reside, after his holiday plans were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During these conversations, Redman-Armstrong made disturbing comments, stating that his genitals “tingled” when he read her messages and complimented her appearance after receiving a photograph of her in pyjamas.

On April 2, 2020, he sent a message expressing his desire for her to send more explicit images, saying, “I hoped by now a naughty little girl like you might have wanted to swap some other kinds of photos.” He also suggested they meet at a beach so he could “caress” her, a statement that underscores the predatory nature of his intentions. These exchanges highlight the serious threat posed by Redman-Armstrong, who has a long history of sexual offenses.

Jeffrey Redman-Armstrong, residing on Victoria Road in Beighton, has a criminal record that includes a previous conviction in 2005 for three counts of sexual activity with a child, for which he was sentenced to 30 months in prison. He was also jailed again in 2007 for breaching a sexual prevention order and possessing an indecent image of a child. In the current case, he pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered to complete 55 days of rehabilitation activities. Additionally, he was placed under a sexual harm prevention order for five years.

Separately, Redman-Armstrong’s criminal history includes a 2012 arrest when he was found by police in Derbyshire. At that time, he was a registered sex offender who had failed to report his address since September of the previous year. He was jailed in 2005 for sexual activity with a girl under 16 and was released in May 2021. Despite his release, authorities continued to monitor him, and he was recently arrested in Stockport on charges related to producing cannabis and failing to comply with the sex offenders register requirements. He was taken into custody on Woodford Road by Greater Manchester Police and appeared at Stockport Magistrates’ Court, where he was remanded in custody pending further proceedings. Redman-Armstrong did not enter a plea to these new charges during the hearing.
