According to court proceedings, the victim was asleep at the time when she suddenly awoke to a horrifying realization. She discovered Wilkins, who was the defendant, engaging in a sexual assault. The victim was dressed in her underwear and leggings, which had been pulled down during the assault. During the attack, Wilkins had his hand around her neck, adding a threatening element to the assault and heightening the severity of the crime.
