JAY MAYOR-CARTY SHAMES PALMERS GREEN DOG IN BRUTAL BALCONY ATTACK

Jay Joseph Patrick Mayor-Carty, born December 1995 and residing on Hedge Lane in Palmers Green, Enfield N13, with connections to Lower Edmonton, London, and Southampton, has been convicted of a disturbing act of animal cruelty.

The incident involved the violent treatment of a French bulldog named Kobe, which was captured on video and subsequently led to his prosecution.

On August 6, 2022, at Waldegrave Point on Green Street in Park Royal, Willesden, Mayor-Carty was recorded repeatedly slamming Kobe onto a balcony floor.

Witnesses observed him forcefully dropping the dog three times, with some reports suggesting he may have also stamped on the animal during the assault.

The footage caused immediate concern and prompted intervention from the RSPCA.

Later that day, RSPCA Inspector Francesca Tambini arrived at the address where Kobe was present.

At that time, Kobe belonged to Mayor-Carty’s then-girlfriend, and Mayor-Carty was temporarily caring for him while she was away.

The dog appeared to have very red eyes, which Mayor-Carty claimed was due to heatstroke.

However, the inspector suspected there might be more serious underlying injuries.

Concerned about the dog's condition, Inspector Tambini, accompanied by police officers, returned the following day to take Kobe to a veterinarian for a thorough examination.

When they arrived, Kobe’s owner had returned home and explained that the dog was being treated for skin allergies.

Nonetheless, the veterinarian’s assessment revealed injuries inconsistent with heatstroke or allergies.

Kobe exhibited signs of fear and was head shy during the examination, indicating trauma.

The vet identified hemorrhaging and swelling in Kobe’s eyes, which suggested blunt force trauma rather than allergic reactions or heat-related issues.

Further expert analysis confirmed that the severity of Kobe’s injuries could not be explained by accidental causes such as running into objects or other animals.

The veterinarian concluded that Kobe had suffered for several days and that his injuries were a direct result of deliberate abuse.

An expert vet emphasized that the injuries were not consistent with common explanations like allergies or heatstroke, and pointed out that the responsible individual failed to seek prompt veterinary care, thereby prolonging Kobe’s suffering.

The evidence pointed to a clear case of cruelty inflicted by Mayor-Carty, who was found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to the dog.

Following the incident, Mayor-Carty and Kobe’s owner parted ways, and Kobe was returned to her after he recovered.

The RSPCA confirmed that Mayor-Carty denied slamming Kobe onto the balcony three times but accepted that he was found guilty of doing so.

Inspector Tambini expressed her condemnation of the case, stating, “This was an awful case, Kobe had suffered terrible cruelty at the hands of a man who was supposed to be caring for him while his owner was absent.

His owner had no idea that her partner was capable of such a violent act.

Witnesses described seeing him being slammed onto the ground three times and possibly stamped on.

His injuries were consistent with blunt force trauma, and it’s clear he would have suffered, especially given the lack of vet attention following the incident.

We’re pleased that Kobe is now safe.” In sentencing, Mayor-Carty received a 12-month community order, including 150 hours of unpaid work and a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Additionally, he was banned from keeping pets for ten years, a restriction that will expire in December 2033.
