COURT HEARS PENSIONER WAS PUSHED TO GROUND BY HIS STEPSON IN DISPUTE OVER COTTAGE
A pensioner died 'after being pushed to the ground by his stepson, Dr Jason Waite, 54, during a dispute over a cottage left to the pensioner by his late wife. The court heard that the incident occurred as Dr Waite arrived at the cottage while new tenants were moving in.
Witnesses Anthony and Pamela Tootell saw Waite throw the pensioner to the floor, which caused a serious head injury and led to his death two days later at Hull Royal Infirmary.
Prosecutors claim Dr Waite 'hated' his stepfather after a long-running legal battle over his late mother’s £5m estate, and messages found during police investigation suggest he harbored significant resentment.
He denies murder and manslaughter charges.
The trial continues.
