OFF-DUTY MOD POLICE OFFICER CONVICTED OF GROPING YOUNG WOMEN AT NIGHTCLUB
A police officer from the Ministry of Defence force at Rosyth naval base, Fife, was convicted of three counts of assault after being accused of drunkenly groping multiple young women in a nightclub.Jason Stein was caught after the women complained to bouncers at Caesar's Night Club, who then called the police.
Witnesses described Stein as being heavily intoxicated, with eyes glazed over, and making lewd comments while he was allegedly groping seven women.
Stein was fined pounds 250 for each assault and ordered to pay his three victims pounds 250 each in compensation.
Initially accused of assaulting seven women, the charges were later reduced.
Stein, from Cowdenbeath, stated that he had no recollection of the incidents, and a friend described him as a decent individual who was mortified by his actions.
The Ministry of Defence stated that Stein was suspended immediately after the allegations and that his disciplinary hearing is scheduled for January.
They indicated that it would be difficult for him to continue in his police role following his conviction.
The incident has significantly affected his career prospects, and he is now seeking new employment.
