A man from Dunfermline has been sentenced to jail after assaulting his partner and her mother during a confrontation over their seven-week-old baby.

Jason Robertson, 22, whose residence was listed as James Bank Hostel, became aggressive when his partner asked him to leave.

He pushed her to the ground before taking their child.

When the partner's mother tried to intervene, Robertson punched her in the head.

He was sentenced to a total of 158 days in prison for his actions.
