JASON MARTIN FROM KENT CAUGHT IN SHOCKING CHILD SEX PLOT IN NEWCASTLE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Jason Martin, a 55-year-old resident of Kent, was caught attempting to engage in a sexual act with an 11-year-old girl in Newcastle.The incident unfolded after Martin traveled approximately 300 miles from his home in Kent to Newcastle, believing he was about to meet a young girl for sexual purposes, having agreed to pay £100 for the encounter.
Unbeknownst to him, the woman he was communicating with was an undercover police officer who had set up a fake profile on a chat website.
The profile bore the name "Dau for sale," a clear reference to "daughter for sale," which was used by authorities to lure suspects involved in child exploitation.
Martin initially believed he was speaking to a mother who had advertised her daughter for sale online, and he eagerly inquired about the price, showing a disturbing willingness to pay for sex with an underage girl.
According to court proceedings at Newcastle Crown Court, Martin's conversations with the undercover officer began in July and continued over a span of four weeks via WhatsApp.
During these exchanges, Martin asked about the child's age and physical appearance, specifically noting that she was tall for her age and blonde.
The officer confirmed the girl was 11 years old, and Martin expressed his intent to travel from Kent to Newcastle to meet her.
Prosecutor Nick Lane explained that a price of £100 was agreed upon for full sexual activity.
The plan was for Martin to book a hotel in central Newcastle for the meeting.
The police provided him with photographs of the girl, with her face deliberately obscured to protect her identity.
Despite some initial concern from Martin that he might be caught in a setup, he remained undeterred.
The discussions also included disturbing details about the mother of the girl allegedly watching him during the act, further highlighting the sinister nature of the planned encounter.
As the date approached, arrangements were finalized with the mother of the girl booking the hotel for the planned meeting on August 14.
On that day, Martin traveled from Kent to Newcastle by train, fully intending to carry out the act.
However, his plans were thwarted when plainclothes officers intercepted him at Newcastle Central Station at the ticket barrier.
Upon being confronted, Martin was visibly shocked and exclaimed, "S*** how did you know what I looked like," indicating his awareness of being caught in the act.
Following his arrest, Martin was taken into custody and subsequently appeared in court.
The judge sentenced him to nearly eight years in prison, reflecting the severity of his actions and the danger posed to the community.
