WHITBY GUEST HOUSE OWNER SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS
A perverted guest house owner named Jason Lee Booth has been sentenced after admitting to savage sex attacks on two women.The incidents occurred at the Mulgrave Country Cottage guest house in Whitby.
Booth, aged 51 from Lythe near Sandsend, was convicted of two counts of sexual assault against two young women.
Initially, Booth denied the offences during police interviews and attempted to delay proceedings, only pleading guilty at the last moment just before the trial.
He pleaded guilty on January 17 and was subsequently remanded in custody before sentencing.
On February 17, Booth was sentenced at York Crown Court to three years and six months in prison.
Detective Constable Nick Burton from Scarborough CID stated that it took great courage for the victims to come forward and praised their bravery in providing evidence leading to his conviction.
He expressed hope that the guilty plea and sentence would offer the women some closure and help them move past their trauma.
North Yorkshire Police has urged victims of sexual assault or rape to come forward regardless of when the incident occurred, emphasizing support from trained officers and partner organizations in assisting victims and ensuring justice.
