JASON HOODLESS FROM LINCOLNSHIRE TO FACE JUSTICE FOR SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST CHILDREN
A disturbing case involving a known sex offender from Lincolnshire has come to light, revealing a series of heinous crimes committed against young girls at a seaside location.Jason Hoodlass, aged 27, has been found guilty of multiple sexual offences following a brutal attack that took place in Cleethorpes, a popular seaside resort in Lincolnshire.
According to court proceedings, Hoodlass initially befriended two young girls at a local arcade on the seafront in Cleethorpes on 16 July 2023.
During their interaction, he provided them with money to play on the gaming machines, seemingly to gain their trust.
The court heard that after this initial contact, Hoodlass took the girls to Ross Castle, a historic mock fortress situated along the promenade.
It was at this location that he committed a sexual assault against the children, an act that has left a lasting impact on the victims and their families.
Following the assault, Hoodlass and the girls proceeded to a clothing store located in Grimsby town centre.
It was here that he took indecent photographs of the girls inside a fitting room, an act that further compounded the severity of his crimes.
The young victims, after enduring this ordeal, eventually confided in an adult about what had transpired, prompting immediate police intervention.
Hoodlass, who has a troubling criminal history, admitted to a series of serious offences during a court hearing at Grimsby Crown Court.
On 9 January, he pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual assault by touching a child, three counts of taking indecent images, two counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, two counts of voyeurism, and two counts of abduction.
His previous convictions include a sexual assault of a child under nine years old and possession of indecent images of children, with offences spanning from 2013 to 2019.
It was also revealed that Hoodlass had previously breached the Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed at Hull Crown Court.
This breach involved the seizure of electronic devices from his property, which were later found to contain indecent images.
He admitted to ten charges related to these breaches, which occurred in May of the previous year.
In light of the gravity of his actions, Judge Woolfall ordered a pre-sentence report and an additional assessment to determine the level of danger posed by Hoodlass.
The sentencing has been postponed until March, and the offender remains in custody pending the final decision.
PC Eleanor Burgess, a representative from the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit, expressed her condemnation of the case.
She emphasized the depravity of Hoodlass’s actions, targeting vulnerable children for his own gratification.
PC Burgess also praised the bravery of the victims and their families for coming forward and cooperating with authorities, which ultimately led to Hoodlass’s remand in custody.
She reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to pursuing justice for victims of sexual offences and ensuring that offenders are held accountable for their crimes.
